Kraft | 2020-21 NFL Regular Season & Playoff Predictions

The 2020 NFL season is steadily approaching. Football fans all over the world are practically salivating at the mouth at the mere thought of the NFL being back in action, and rightfully so. With much of the world coming to a mere halt in the past couple of months, sports fans have been anxiously awaiting the return of their favorite sports. As for myself, I spend nearly every waking moment imagining the first kickoff of the 2020 NFL season. I imagine it will feel like all is right in the world again; whether there are fans in the stadium or not. Like many of you, quarantine has given me an unprecedented amount of free time.

To make the best use of my time, I have decided to predict the entire 2020 NFL season. Yep, you got that right… I have had SO much free time, that I have composed a 17-week breakdown of the 2020 NFL season, starting with the winners & losers of each week, crazy stats, and playoff predictions. My intention of this article was to be so bold, providing very specific stats, that if I were to be correct in merely one of my assumptions, it would be pretty impressive. So if Patrick Mahomes throws for 4 TD’s in Week 11 against the Raiders like I’m predicting… I call it a win in my book.

For your reference: I have boldened the winners of each game for each week. So for example, the Chiefs are beating the Texans in Week 1, so their team name is bold.

WEEK 1

THURSDAY:

TEXANS AT CHIEFS

SUNDAY:

SEAHAWKS AT FALCONS

EAGLES AT REDSKINS

DOLPHINS AT PATRIOTS

PACKERS AT VIKINGS

COLTS AT JAGUARS

BEARS AT LIONS

BROWNS AT RAVENS

JETS AT BILLS

RAIDERS AT PANTHERS

CHARGERS AT BENGALS

BUCS AT SAINTS

CARDINALS AT 49ERS

COWBOYS AT RAMS

MONDAY:

STEELERS AT GIANTS

TITANS AT BRONCOS

Weekly predictions:

Not many huge upsets this week, but things are just getting started. Kansas City is going to obliterate Houston (duh) and no one will bat an eye, except maybe Bill O’Brien. The Dolphins vs. Patriots game is going to be closer than people would expect, but the Patriots will still win comfortably. Odell Beckham Jr. is going to blow people away when the Browns play the Ravens, even though they will lose by a lot; like how Joe Burrow will lose his first NFL game against the Chargers, even though he will impress with at least 2 passing TDs. As much as it pains me to say, because I’m a Rams fan, the Cowboys will win a tightly contested matchup against the Rams in LA, in a possible OT game. The Giants will shock everyone by destroying the Steelers, with Saquon Barkley scored two TD’s; one for 40+ yards.

WEEK 2

THURSDAY:

BENGALS AT BROWNS

SUNDAY:

GIANTS AT BEARS

JAGUARS AT TITANS

PANTHERS AT BUCCANEERS

BRONCOS AT STEELERS

RAMS AT EAGLES

FALCONS AT COWBOYS

LIONS AT PACKERS

VIKINGS AT COLTS

BILLS AT DOLPHINS

49ERS AT JETS

REDSKINS AT CARDINALS

CHIEFS AT CHARGERS

RAVENS AT TEXANS

PATRIOTS AT SEAHAWKS

MONDAY:

SAINTS AT RAIDERS

Weekly Predictions:

Joe Burrow is going to put on an absolute show on TNF. Lukewarm fans will remember this game as “when I knew Joe Burrow was going to be a star”. The Broncos are going to lose in overtime to the Steelers, where Chase Claypool will have a 50+ yard TD catch. The Falcons are going to demolish the Cowboys because Todd Gurley is going to have 2 TD’s and Julio Jones will as well. The Colts are going to upset the Vikings with a close win, while the Jets get obliterated by the 49ers. On Monday night, the Saints will obviously beat the Raiders and people will start wondering why the Raiders drafted so many receivers who haven’t done anything.

WEEK 3

THURSDAY:

DOLPHINS AT JAGUARS

SUNDAY:

49ERS AT GIANTS

TEXANS AT STEELERS

BENGALS AT EAGLES

RAIDERS AT PATRIOTS

TITANS AT VIKINGS

REDSKINS AT BROWNS

RAMS AT BILLS

BEARS AT FALCONS

PANTHERS AT CHARGERS

JETS AT COLTS

LIONS AT CARDINALS

COWBOYS AT SEAHAWKS

BUCS AT BRONCOS

PACKERS AT SAINTS

MONDAY:

CHIEFS AT RAVENS

Weekly Predictions:

We finally start to see some real upsets this week, but first we have to sit through TNF which is just an absolutely excruciating game between the Dolphins and the Jaguars. The Dolphins squeeze out the win because of a last-minute TD from Tua, but the entire game makes us want to drink bleach. The Texans upset the Steelers, which is due to DeShaun making everything happen himself. Panthers narrowly beat the Chargers, and people begin wondering when Herbert is going to step in at QB for Taylor. Tom Brady gets sacked 3 times against the Broncos and Aaron Rodgers throws 3 TD’s, only to lose to the Saints. On MNF, it’s a gunfight between Mahomes and Jackson, with Baltimore ultimately winning because they actually have a defense.

WEEK 4

THURSDAY:

BRONCOS AT JETS

SUNDAY:

CARDINALS AT PANTHERS

RAVENS AT REDSKINS

STEELERS AT TITANS

CHARGERS AT BUCS

SEAHAWKS AT DOLPHINS

COLTS AT BEARS

JAGUARS AT BENGALS

BROWNS AT COWBOYS

SAINTS AT LIONS

VIKINGS AT TEXANS

GIANTS AT RAMS

BILLS AT RAIDERS

PATRIOTS AT CHIEFS

EAGLES AT 49ERS

MONDAY:

FALCONS AT PACKERS

Weekly Predictions:

DeAndre Hopkins gets 3 TD’s against the Panthers. The Seahawks beat the Dolphins in Miami, but it’s embarrassingly close. The Bears shock everyone by beating the Colts, and this is largely due to the resurgence of their defense, who have at least 2 turnovers. Saquon Barkley goes off against the Rams, leading the Giants to a victory in LA while the Raiders destroy the Bills, leaving a lot of people confused. Jimmy G gets injured against the Eagles in Carson Wentz esque fashion by diving into the end zone, but his injury is not season-ending. The Packers win a tight contest against Atlanta, as Aaron Rodgers’ frustration with the Packers organization is getting more vocal and public with every week.

WEEK 5

THURSDAY:

BUCS AT BEARS

SUNDAY:

PANTHERS AT FALCONS

RAMS AT REDSKINS

BILLS AT TITANS

EAGLES AT STEELERS

CARDINALS AT JETS

BENGALS AT RAVENS

JAGUARS AT TEXANS

BILLS AT TITANS

RAIDERS AT CHIEFS

BRONCOS AT PATRIOTS

DOLPHINS AT 49ERS

GIANTS AT COWBOYS

COLTS AT BROWNS

VIKINGS AT SEAHAWKS

MONDAY:

CHARGERS AT SAINTS

Weekly Predictions:

This week is pretty boring, with the exception of the Broncos vs Patriots game, in which we see an electrifying battle between Drew Lock and Jarrett Stidham. It’s not that the game is high scoring because it’s not, but both QB’s shine and it ignites a Lock vs. Stidham rivalry for years to come. The Seahawks barely win at home against the Vikings, but Russell Wilson throws 4 TDs. The Chargers and Saints game is close, but the Chargers lose and people start crying for Justin Herbert to start.

WEEK 6

THURSDAY:

CHIEFS AT BILLS

SUNDAY:

BENGALS AT COLTS

LIONS AT JAGUARS

FALCONS AT VIKINGS

REDSKINS AT GIANTS

BEARS AT PANTHERS

RAVENS AT EAGLES

TEXANS AT TITANS

BROWNS AT STEELERS

DOLPHINS AT BRONCOS

JETS AT CHARGERS

PACKERS AT BUCS

RAMS AT 49ERS

MONDAY:

CARDINALS AT COWBOYS

Weekly Predictions:

The Bengals beat the Colts in Indianapolis; by a lot. D’Andre Swift has a breakout game against the Jaguars, and rumors begin that the Lions are wanting to trade Kerryon Johnson. The Browns beat the Steelers in Pittsburgh, with Baker Mayfield having the game of his career, as he has performed poorly so far this season. Miami upsets the Broncos while the Packers beat the Bucs. The Cardinals upset the Cowboys which lead to Andy Dalton taking the starting job for Dallas.

WEEK 7

THURSDAY:

GIANTS AT EAGLES

SUNDAY:

STEELERS AT RAVENS

BROWNS AT BENGALS

PACKERS AT TEXANS

CHARGERS AT DOLPHINS

LIONS AT FALCONS

PANTHERS AT SAINTS

COWBOYS AT REDSKINS

BILLS AT JETS

SEAHAWKS AT CARDINALS

CHIEFS AT BRONCOS

49ERS AT PATRIOTS

BUCS AT RAIDERS

MONDAY:

BEARS AT RAMS

Weekly Predictions:

The Browns crush the Bengals after losing to them in their first match-up, in due part to Nick Chubb’s 2 TD’s and OBJ continuing his season-long “proving everyone wrong” tour. Justin Herbert makes his first start for the Chargers, narrowly beating Tua and the Dolphins. The Redskins upset the Cowboys at home, while the Chiefs narrowly beat the Broncos in Denver. Jimmy G makes his triumphant return to New England, in his first game back from injury (see Week 4) and wins by a large margin.

WEEK 8

THURSDAY:

FALCONS AT PANTHERS

SUNDAY:

TITANS AT BENGALS

RAIDERS AT BROWNS

COLTS AT LIONS

VIKINGS AT PACKERS

PATRIOTS AT BILLS

JETS AT CHIEFS

RAMS AT DOLPHINS

JAGUARS AT CHARGERS

SAINTS AT BEARS

49ERS AT SEAHAWKS

COWBOYS AT EAGLES

MONDAY:

BUCS AT GIANTS

Weekly Predictions:

The Panthers surprisingly beat the Falcons by a large margin on Thursday night, sparking the demise of the Falcons season. The Bills upset the Patriots, with Josh Allen and Stefon Diggs connecting for 3 TD’s. The 49ers vs. Seahawks game goes into overtime, with the Seahawks winning on a TD pass to John Ursua. MNF is a battle, with Tom Brady and Daniel Jones throwing TD’s left and right, but ultimately the Bucs win. This week is interesting because the Bears are rumored to start Nick Foles over Trubisky, but don’t; which they regret when the Saints blow out the Bears by 28 points.

WEEK 9

THURSDAY:

PACKERS AT 49ERS

SUNDAY:

SEAHAWKS AT BILLS

RAVENS AT COLTS

TEXANS AT JAGUARS

PANTHERS AT CHIEFS

BRONCOS AT FALCONS

LIONS AT VIKINGS

GIANTS AT REDSKINS

BEARS AT TITANS

RAIDERS AT CHARGERS

DOLPHINS AT CARDINALS

STEELERS AT COWBOYS

SAINTS AT BUCS

MONDAY:

PATRIOTS AT JETS

Weekly Predictions:

The week starts off with Aaron Rodgers returning to the Bay area and using his bitterness towards the 49ers to win in an upset. The Jaguars “upset” the Texans, although both teams are having abysmal seasons at this point. Gardner Minshew looks oddly amazing but it doesn’t last. The Broncos obliterate the Falcons, while Nick Foles fails to win in his first start of the season. The Dolphins beat the Cardinals, but it’s a fun game between Tua and Kyler. The Patriots narrowly beat the Jets on MNF, getting fans excited for a Sam Darnold and Jarrett Stidham rivalry.

WEEK 10

THURSDAY:

COLTS AT TITANS

SUNDAY:

TEXANS AT BROWNS

REDSKINS AT LIONS

JAGUARS AT PACKERS

EAGLES AT GIANTS

BUCS AT PANTHERS

BENGALS AT STEELERS

BILLS AT CARDINALS

BRONCOS AT RAIDERS

JETS AT DOLPHINS

SEAHAWKS AT RAMS

49ERS AT SAINTS

RAVENS AT PATRIOTS

MONDAY:

VIKINGS AT BEARS

Weekly Predictions:

The big storyline this week revolves around Aaron Rodgers’ public disdain for the Packers organization. Nevertheless, he throws 4 TD’s against the Jaguars. The Giants blow out the Eagles. Joe Burrow lights it up against Pittsburgh, while Drew Lock blows out the Raiders on their home turf (now in Las Vegas). The Rams squeak out a win against the Seahawks with a 45 yard TD run from Cam Akers. The 49ers blow out the Saints in a confusing loss.

WEEK 11

THURSDAY:

CARDINALS AT SEAHAWKS

SUNDAY:

BENGALS AT REDSKINS

FALCONS AT SAINTS

PATRIOTS AT TEXANS

TITANS AT RAVENS

STEELERS AT JAGUARS

LIONS AT PANTHERS

EAGLES AT BROWNS

PACKERS AT COLTS

CHARGERS AT BRONCOS

COWBOYS AT VIKINGS

CHIEFS AT RAIDERS

MONDAY:

RAMS AT BUCS

Weekly Predictions:

The week begins with the Seahawks almost losing to the Cardinals in Seattle, but they pull through. The Bengals, maybe surprisingly, beat the Redskins in Washington, and Joe Burrow continues to impress. The Broncos obliterate in the Chargers at home, with rookie WR KJ Hamler scoring 2 TDs. Patrick Mahomes throws 4 TD’s against the Las Vegas Raiders.

WEEK 12

THURSDAY:

TEXANS AT LIONS

REDSKINS AT COWBOYS

RAVENS AT STEELERS

SUNDAY:

CARDINALS AT PATRIOTS

PANTHERS AT VIKINGS

TITANS AT COLTS

GIANTS AT BENGALS

CHARGERS AT BILLS

BROWNS AT JAGUARS

DOLPHINS AT JETS

RAIDERS AT FALCONS

49ERS AT RAMS

SAINTS AT BRONCOS

CHIEFS AT BUCS

BEARS AT PACKERS

MONDAY:

SEAHAWKS AND EAGLES

Weekly Predictions:

Thanksgiving, unfortunately, gives us pretty boring football, with none of the games being remotely close. The Ravens beat the Steelers 45-10, and Big Ben gives us some amazing confused-face memes. Justin Herbert impresses as he beats the Bills in Buffalo, scoring 2 TDs with his legs. Sam Darnold gets injured in the Jets win over Miami, effectively ending his season. The Saints squeak out a win in Denver, but the talk of the game is, once again, Drew Lock. The Bucs beat the Chiefs in what is one of the most exciting games of the season, while the Seahawks obliterate the Eagles on Monday Night Football.

WEEK 13

THURSDAY:

COWBOYS AT RAVENS

SUNDAY:

COLTS AT TEXANS

REDSKINS AT STEELERS

RAIDERS AT JETS

JAGUARS AT VIKINGS

SAINTS AT FALCONS

BROWNS AT TITANS

BENGALS AT DOLPHINS

LIONS AT BEARS

GIANTS AT SEAHAWKS

RAMS AT CARDINALS

PATRIOTS AT CHARGERS

EAGLES AT PACKERS

BRONCOS AT CHIEFS

MONDAY:

BILLS AT 49ERS

Weekly Predictions:

This week is upset city. It starts with the Raiders narrowly beating the Jets in New York, where rookie QB James Morgan starts since Sam Darnold is out for the rest of the season. The Bears then beat the Lions in Chicago, although by a narrow margin, in what surely makes people scratch their heads. The Eagles then destroy the Packers at Lambeau Field, which is pretty surprising although the story of the Packers 2020 season is the drama behind the scenes. To top it off, the Broncos beat the Chiefs in overtime.

WEEK 14

THURSDAY:

PATRIOTS AT RAMS

SUNDAY:

BRONCOS AT PANTHERS

COWBOYS AT BENGALS

CARDINALS AT GIANTS

VIKINGS AT BUCS

TEXANS AT BEARS

PACKERS AT LIONS

CHIEFS AT DOLPHINS

TITANS AT JAGUARS

JETS AT SEAHAWKS

COLTS AT RAIDERS

FALCONS AT CHARGERS

REDSKINS AT 49ERS

SAINTS AND EAGLES

STEELERS AT BILLS

MONDAY:

RAVENS AT BROWNS

Weekly Predictions:

Saquon Barkley scores 3 TD’s against the Arizona Cardinals. The Vikings escape with a win in Tampa Bay, while the Chiefs beat the Dolphins by 30+ points. Somehow, someway, Gardner Minshew has the game of his life to beat the Titans in Jacksonville. Justin Herbert looks great as the Chargers win, while Josh Allen puts the team on his back to beat the Pittsburgh Steelers. The biggest surprise of the season comes as the Cleveland Browns beat the Baltimore Ravens on Monday Night Football, with OBJ continuing his season tear and scoring 2 TD’s; one passing, one receiving.

WEEK 15

THURSDAY:

CHARGERS AT RAIDERS

SUNDAY:

SEAHAWKS AT REDSKINS

BEARS AT VIKINGS

JAGUARS AT RAVENS

BUCS AT FALCONS

PATRIOTS AT DOLPHINS

BROWNS AT GIANTS

EAGLES AT CARDINALS

CHIEFS AT SAINTS

49ERS AT COWBOYS

MONDAY:

STEELERS AT BENGALS

TBD:

LIONS AT TITANS

PANTHERS AT PACKERS

TEXANS AT COLTS

JETS AT RAMS

BILLS AT BRONCOS

Weekly Predictions:

The story of the week is Tom Brady’s matchup against the Atlanta Falcons, as we all remember what happened in that super bowl. However, the Falcons destroy the Bucs, which is something that Falcons fans refuse to stop talking about. The Browns beat the Giants in Odell Beckham’s return to MetLife, while the Cardinals win a big game against the Eagles at home. The Jets and rookie QB James Morgan somehow beat the Rams in LA, and Josh Allen once again shines at the Bills (upset?) the Broncos in Denver.

WEEK 16

THURSDAY:

VIKINGS AT SAINTS

SUNDAY:

PANTHERS AT REDSKINS

COLTS AT STEELERS

BEARS AT JAGUARS

BENGALS AT TEXANS

GIANTS AT RAVENS

FALCONS AT CHIEFS

RAMS AT SEAHAWKS

EAGLES AT COWBOYS

TITANS AT PACKERS

MONDAY:

BILLS AT PATRIOTS

TBD:

DOLPHINS AT RAIDERS

BRONCOS AT CHARGERS

BROWNS AT JETS

BUCS AT LIONS

49ERS AT CARDINALS

Weekly Predictions:

The Panthers beat the Redskins, which is arguably embarrassing for Ron Rivera. The Jaguars win, in what is another surprising game by Gardner Minshew, but the game itself makes us want to drink bleach, it’s just all-around bad. In Dallas, the Eagles somehow overcome the Cowboys, although it doesn’t really have playoff implications. Tua has his best game of the season in Las Vegas, throwing for 4 TDs.

WEEK 17

SUNDAY:

VIKINGS AT LIONS

FALCONS AT BUCS

TITANS AT TEXANS

JETS AT PATRIOTS

STEELERS AT BROWNS

COWBOYS AT GIANTS

CHARGERS AT CHIEFS

REDSKINS AT EAGLES

JAGUARS AT COLTS

RAVENS AT BENGALS

DOLPHINS AT BILLS

SAINTS AT PANTHERS

PACKERS AT BEARS

CARDINALS AT RAMS

SEAHAWKS AT 49ERS

RAIDERS AT BRONCOS

Weekly Predictions:

Week 17 is divisional matches per usual. Nothing exciting here, no upsets. However, it is always fun to watch the playoff teams start their back-ups.
